TOURISM IN ROME

A Secret Corner and its surroundings

This lovely apartment is located in a small and charming street near Campo de Fiori, a place where you can breathe the ancient history of the city. A few steps away you can reach the Ghetto area, where the Roman Jewish community resides and which is characterized by its restaurants of typical cuisine and the Portico di Ottavia. You are in the heart of Renaissance Rome but not only: at every street corner you can see many traces of ancient Rome.

A few steps away is the famous Campo de Fiori, where since 1869 a characteristic fruit and flower market has been held every morning. In a few minutes, walking through alleys full of history, you arrive at the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. From this strategic area, you can easily walk to other extraordinary places such as Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza di Spagna, Trevi Fountain, St. Peter's Basilica, the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums. In addition, it is enough to cross Ponte Sisto to explore the secrets of Trastevere and get a taste of authentic Roman life. The whole area is safe and wonderful to walk around, full of grocery stores, shops, restaurants, lovely wine bars and quaint taverns.

Panoramic Castle and its surroundings

It is located in the beautiful working-class neighborhood of Trastevere, which has become synonymous with young bohemians and trendy night owls. The cobbled streets, old facades and shops give it a small village. Trastevere, which in July becomes the stage of the centuries-old "festa de noantri", is perhaps the most famous district of Rome that attracts many visitors every year, thanks to its characteristic alleys and views where, especially in the less known and hidden ones, you can still savor those medieval or nineteenth-century atmospheres that have inspired many artists, making it one of the most romantic places in Rome. Do not miss the Basilica overlooking the enchanting Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere whose origins date back to 217 BC, the Basilica of Santa Cecilia of the fifth century in Trastevere with its Baroque architectural structure, and other historic buildings including the monumental complex of San Michele a Ripa Grande and the magnificent Palazzo Corsini in Lungara, in front of Villa Farnesina, which houses the National Gallery of Ancient Art. From Trastevere you can walk to the Gianicolo Hill, the famous panoramic balcony (Gianicolo Terrace) over Rome and the Alban Hills. Be sure to go to the so-called "tempietto del Bramante" or "tempietto di San Pietro in Montorio" inside the complex of the convent of San Pietro in Montorio, one of the most fascinating Renaissance architecture in Rome. The water of Fontana Paola (nicknamed the Fontanone ' by the Romans, meaning large fountain) is located at the point where Via Garibaldi and the Gianicolo promenade begins and is a breathtaking example of Baroque design. Bus: 115 or 870 to the top or 44 and 75 to Via Giacinto Carini.
